Our NextGreen initiatives

At NextPharma, we are using Smart Process Design: operational control, interconnected processes, and minimal reliance on external resources like heat, steam, and electricity, are all key aspects.

Smart process design allows us to streamline operations, minimising resource consumption and maximising energy efficiency. We prioritise ensuring both our own processes and those of our partners are as resource efficient as possible.

With the aim of reducing energy consumption and maximizing the use of renewable energies, we design our centres of excellence to be environmentally friendly and to use innovative technologies. 

To achieve our goal of CO₂ neutrality, we have also installed more than 3,000 photovoltaic panels on the roofs of our sites in Waltrop and Bielefeld. The sun is our planet's most important and free energy resource. Solar energy is not only a good way of reducing the carbon footprint of our sites, it will reduce also cover around 15% of their electricity consumption, making them less dependent on fossil fuels and fluctuating electricity prices.
