With four decades of continuous product development on site, NextPharma’s Asker site, operating as Asker Contract Manufacturing AS, is the group’s centre of excellence for high-volume tablets and chewable tablets, with specialist capabilities in calcium carbonate and vitamin D3 chewables for prescription, OTC and nutritional products.
If you are evaluating a European CDMO for large-scale tablet or chewable production, discover NextPharma Asker’s core capabilities, regulatory status, facility details, and how to start a conversation with the team.
The Asker site has been part of the NextPharma Group since 2023 and has continuously manufactured solid-dose pharmaceuticals since the 1960s. The site is purpose-built to produce high volumes of chewable and conventional tablets.
Our core technology platform is fluid-bed granulation. Batch sizes in blending, compression and packaging can go up to approx. 4 tons handled efficiently using automated material transport and gravity.
We have deep formulation expertise in calcium carbonate and vitamin D3 chewables, in the following core dosage forms:
Flavours are manufactured in-house, supported by lab-scale development equipment and trained internal sensory panel operating to ISO guidelines. Development is integrated into the site: galenical development, analytical development, stability testing, sensory evaluation and CMC documentation are all available, supporting lifecycle management from early formulation through to commercial scale-up.

Production at NextPharma Asker is conducted in accordance with EU GMP and food supplement requirements. The site operates under Norwegian Medical Products Agency (NOMA) oversight. Our calcium/vitamin D3 portfolio is registered in approximately 50 markets worldwide.
The NextPharma Asker site covers 23,000 m² of built area on a 43,000 m² land plot, with 9,000 m²
dedicated to production and laboratories and 7,500 m² of warehousing (8,000 pallet capacity, with
four automated pallet cranes installed in 2025). We substantially upgraded the production facility
between 2020 and 2025, including a full granulation and primary packaging refresh, a new counting
machine, and an additional tablet press. We have space and capacity to expand with additional lines
for tablet coating and blister packaging. For a full picture of solid dose capabilities across the
network, see our solid dose manufacturing services or the NextPharma locations hub.
